Whimsical Countryside Wedding at Aynhoe Park
We love any opportunity to cover a wedding at the gorgeous, one of a kind Aynhoe Park so when the lovely photographer Emma-Jane shared with us this wonderfully playful wedding we couldn’t wait to share it with you too.
Held over 3 days, the wedding consisted of a welcome dinner on the first night followed by the dazzling main event, and a Chinese tea ceremony and farewell Sunday roast on the last day. With Aynhoe Park forming the perfect whimsical backdrop, the couple complemented the scene with lots of well considered, creative details that tied the whole feel of the day together beautifully. By keeping the wedding both wonderfully chic yet playful and fun at the same time, the wedding still has a timeless feel to it and looks like the kind of party we really wish we could’ve been at!

Flowers
Incredible floral works of art took centre stage at this wedding, from wild flower arrangements adorning the table plan and welcome signs to even the stone statue getting a wedding touch in the form of a floral hydrangea feather boa! The star of the show has to be the cascading archway the florist lovingly created in the ceremony room, consisting of textural foliage in various tones and classic English countryside flowers such as dahlias and delphiniums. We’re obsessed with the photo ops they managed to get in front of this and it really did make the room come alive.
Decor
Embracing the fun party feel of the venue, the couple also chose to dot oversized gold tasselled balloons around the stairwell and around the room where the bridal party were getting ready, tying in nicely with the cute floating giraffe found in the main ceremony room. The party feel continued well into the evening, which saw an impressive stack of espresso martinis and pornstar martinis constructed, something we can almost guarantee would’ve been a sure fire hit with the guests. Lighting and balloons gave the evening dance floor a rock and roll edge, with the monogram making an appearance again behind the band as a lovely personal touch.
Stationery
The wedding stationery featured a bespoke monogram and illustrations of the animals found around Aynhoe Park, embossed in gold on the soft grey wedding invitations and brought to life in colour across the menus, welcome signs, table numbers and seating plan.
