10 Beautiful Ways to Decorate Long Tables
We always love a well-dressed long table, with simply the shape of the table really making the central arrangements shine. Embracing repetition, multiple levels and both candles and florals are the key to making a real impact. You’re guaranteed to be obsessed when you see it all in place on your wedding day.

Foliage garland
A chic and simple classic is to create a nice long garland of foliage and drape it down the length of the table. To add a bit of interest, we recommend including a few different foliage types alongside the eucalyptus to create some lovely texture.
2. Candelabras
Perfect for adding decadence to your tablescapes, candelabras look really impressive when used in one long row. This works well for an opulent or regal wedding, or alternatively is a great way to juxtapose glamour against rustic within a barn wedding.

3. Run fabric down the middle
A pretty way to soften your wedding tables and bring some romance is by draping soft chiffon-like fabric down the middle. The idea is to make it look effortlessly draped, so don’t be afraid to let it gather on the table and pool onto the floor.

4. Planted garden
We love this idea of creating a floral table runner that gives the idea of it being ‘planted’ in situ. Usually created using floristry foam or chicken wire if using cut stems, it could look equally lovely if you planted flowers directly into long trugs.

A favourite for classic English countryside weddings, jam jars with whimsical and wild floral arrangements set within them always bring a lovely effortless and laidback feel to the table. Cluster them together and bring candles into mix, dotting them down the length of the table.

Bud vases work similarly to the above with jam jars, but bring a more clean and elegant aesthetic, whilst still embracing the wild and whimsical nature at the same time. This works well when you’re only planning on using a few floral stems but still want to make an impact.

7. High arrangements
One way to embrace the glamour and opulence of a wedding day is to mix in really tall floral arrangements with lots of lovely smaller ones too. Just a few of these per table looks beautiful, but ideally stick to odd numbers to keep the balance right.

8. Larger urn arrangements
A traditional and pretty option is to have your floral arrangements sprouting out of urns, be they terracotta or metal. It’s a nice way to set the tone of the day and make an impact on the table. If you fancy something in addition to this, we recommend interweaving candles and little bud vases between the arrangements too.

9. Single flower choice
A Chic and elegant way to make an impact is by choosing just one type of flower and using it down the full length of the table. We particularly like this done with hydrangeas as their large heads mean you only need a few to make a real difference.

10. Floristry foam arrangements
A classic floral option is to have multiple arrangements made using floristry foam and dot these along the table, mingling lanterns and tea lights amongst them. These are also a lovely choice if you’d like to let your friends and family take them home as they won’t have to worry about returning the vase to the florist.
