Breathtakingly beautiful, surrounded by luscious grounds and home to historic architecture, it’s no surprise why so many couples dream of getting married in a French Chateau wedding venue. Often providing the ability to get married, have your reception and sleep your guests in a multitude of bedrooms, they’re ideal for hosting a wedding all in one place and ensure you really make the most of the breathtaking surroundings.

Midi-Pyrenees
1. Chateau Naudou
Positioned between Bordeaux and Toulouse, Chateau Naudou feels like a combination of a French and Italian chateau. Featuring a courtyard lined with cypress trees, an impressive pool, all weather tennis court, an orchard and a lovely flower meadow filled with wild orchids, there are plenty of areas to entertain your guests throughout the wedding weekend. Located on a verdant valley with beautiful views across the area, you can choose to host your wedding indoors or outside under the fairy lights. Plus, with over 11 years experience planning and hosting more than 200 weddings, the in-house chef and wedding planner know how to make your weekend run smoothly and truly bring your ideas alive.
The domaine can sleep up to 26 people on site and the chateau has the ability to sleep 14 guests in the rooms. There is also a cottage that has 2 bedrooms and the Pigeonnier has 4 bedrooms. The guests are also welcome to use the main, well-equipped kitchen during their stay too.
If you have any time left of the weekend after enjoying all that the chateau has to offer, then be sure to explore the nearby village of Auvillar, which is officially classified as one of the ‘most beautiful villages of France’.

Provence
2. Domaine de Canaille
Tucked in the bay of Cassis on the French Riviera, Domaine de Canaille is exactly what you’d imagine when thinking of the classic French Riviera wedding location. With a combination of classic and contemporary styles, it is positioned on 150 acres of land with full privacy.
You can hold your ceremony on the breathtaking front terrace, and then walk down to the secluded beach afterwards for a champagne reception. Dinner will also be served on the five-thousand square foot terrace, and your guests can lounge by the saltwater pool after dinner or the next morning.
Domaine de Canaille can sleep up to 24 people across 12 rooms and has a 130 person maximum capacity for the wedding itself.

3. Chateau du Vieux Palais
A charming and characterful 17th century chateau, the Chateau du Vieux Palais is a quintessentially French, laid-back wedding location. Originally built for the Archbishop, it is surrounded by Saint Victoire mountain and feels really luxurious and tranquil.
The estate’s grounds provide activities in abundance, from a private swimming pool and tennis court, to a boules court and endless amounts of gardens and parklands to explore.
The venue can hold 110 guests both inside and out for the reception and can sleep 22 within its bedrooms.

4. Chateau Fontaine
Featuring an 18th century facade, Chateau Fontaine is Provençal charm at its best. With its picture ready symmetrical frontage complete with duck egg blue shutters, it is situated within 8 hectares of parkland with an abundance of locations to get married. From the Jardins a la Francaise and fountains and ponds, to the orchards and organic garden, you can choose different locations for different moods. You have the option of dining al fresco or under a marquee, and can then make the most of a BBQ by the infinity pool the day after.
The consecrated chapel can host up to 70 guests for the ceremony, the Chateau can host up to 150 for the ceremony, and is also able to sleep 29 people on site too.
Other crucial amenities that the Chateau offer are an on-site fitness area, a tennis court and even a helipad! We’re sure this must have come in really handy when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner hosted their wedding here in 2019…
In terms of location, it is situated in the heart of a village close to lots of the key cultural and historical sights of Provence. Handily, it is also perfect situated for a wine tour of Chateauneuf du Pape and close to the lovely Avignon.

5. Le Mas de la Rose
A large traditional Provençal country home, La Mas de la Rose is set within 25 hectares of land and dates back to the 17th century. It’s the perfect option if you’d like the grandeur of a large house with a cosy and homely feel to it. Within the house you’ll find natural and elegant interiors, that strike the right balance between modern and traditional, in a way that sometimes only the French know how. With panoramic views across the parkland and a large swimming pool surrounded by lavender, there are plenty of places to hold different aspects of your day and will no doubt ensure your guests have a great time. The venue has capacity for 150 people and can sleep up to 24.

Dordogne and Lot, Midi Pyrenees
6. Chateau de Puissentut
Tucked within the rolling hills, Chateau de Puissentut has a rustic and magical feel to it with a half timbered structure, sage green shutters and beautiful blooms of rose and lavender surrounding it. Functioning slightly differently from the typical wedding package, the friendly and approachable owners work as ‘wedding facilitators’. This means they’ll give you recommendations for the best suppliers in the areas and are able to offer packages of tables and chairs, tableware, linen, lighting, PA systems and set up and coordination on the day.
There are plenty of places to enjoy your day on the grounds, starting off with holding a wedding blessing within the 17th century Pigeonnier, with views across the valley. The reception can be help on the lawn, in the courtyard, or if the weather isn’t holding up, you can also have the reception in the light airy barn.
Complete with a pool for a BBQ party the following day, the venue can hold up to 120 people and sleep up to 26 people.

7. Chateau Perigourdin
Perched upon the top of a mountain with views over the Dordogne river, Chateau Perigoudin’s location is pretty hard to beat. In terms of style, it feels like a combination between a grand chateau and a quaint country farmhouse, making it feel like a homely and intimate place to get married. The options for where you get married are plentiful - with a chapel in the grounds, their Garden a la Française that’s home to lots of roses and fruit trees, and even a woods that features a cave sheltering a statue of the Virgin Mary with views over the Dordogne River. The reception can be held inside for under 130 guests in the connecting lounges or outside in the garden facing the valley. For over 130 guests, they recommend choosing a marquee within the grounds. Plus your next day plans are sorted, with a lovely pool, kitchen and BBQ areas that’s perfect for a hungover brunch after the wedding.
It has the ability to host a whopping 500 people, making it one of the largest capacity venues on this list. It can also sleep up to 60 people in the grounds, 32 people across the 14 bedrooms in the chateau, 4 people in an apartment, 8 people in a cottage and 15 people in the two farmhouses opposite. There’s also plenty of accommodation in the villages nearby.

8. Chateau du Redon
Having been completely renovated in 2013, Chateau de Redon embraces modern style whilst preserving all the traditional elements of the building, from the old wooden floors, traditional fireplaces and detailed woodwork around the building. The venue feels luxurious and spacious, giving your guests ample amounts of room to both mingle at the wedding and when staying overnight. It has a real ‘home away from home’ feel, with a cosy kitchen complete with a large dining space for brunching with your wedding party, and a large comfy lounge for chilling in the day after. For the reception you can dine outside under the fairy light hung trees, surrounded by 2 hectares of private park.
The chateau has the ability to host up to 140 guests for the wedding reception, with 8 spacious suites for your guests to stay in. There’s also the obligatory addition of a heated salt water swimming pool and large terraces, each with their own BBQs.

9. Chateau Cedre
Crafted using local pale stone and featuring soft blue shutters, Chateau Cedre is the quintessential chateau look. Wisteria climbs its way up the building’s facade, creating a romantic and dreamlike venue that will form a beautiful backdrop to your wedding day. Housed within the courtyard and lined by rows of Cypress trees is a 19 metre pool that your guests will no doubt enjoy across the wedding weekend.
The building can host up to 300 guests outside and 180 inside, with a mixture of both large rooms ideal for the main event and smaller more intimate rooms for gatherings later in the evening.
There’s the option of having the reception in the main courtyard, across the six reception rooms that can seat up to 180 guest or alternatively you can have a marquee in the grounds. It also has the ability to sleep 24 people on site.

10. Le Manoir Du Bout Dupont
Dating back to the 17th century, the Manoir is steeped in history and filled with lots of rustic charm, situated within two hectares of grounds. Bordering both the Dordogne and Lot, it is the perfect base from which your guests can explore the regions before or after the wedding. It is ideal for an intimate wedding but can also host up to 150 guests, with the ability to sleep 20 guests on site.
The Manoir’s lush gardens are home to plenty of places to hold your reception, from a pretty walled garden lined with lavender to a lawned courtyard and pergolas of wisteria, along with plenty of hidden and secluded areas for guests to discover throughout the day. There is a large swimming pool and spots for table tennis and boules to keep your guests entertained.

Burgundy
11. Chateau D’Aleny
If you’re a wine connoisseur, getting married near the vineyards of Burgundy at Chateau D’Aleny could be the ideal option for you. Set within 40 hectares of private parkland, the venue provides a secluded and intimate spot to get married, with a private chapel also within the grounds. The chateau has also recently been renovated by well known designers, so expect modern design with high end features, a luxe kitchen and stylish bedrooms, which still pay careful attention to the heritage of the building.
Your wedding can take place within the private chapel, followed by the reception in either the gardens or the orangery. The venue has the ability host between 50 to 200 inside and over 200 outside. The on site accommodation provides enough space to sleep 34 people.

Cote D’Azur
12. Chateau Saint-Martin
Last but certainly not least is the stunning Chateau Saint-Martin on the French Riviera, steeped in history and we can imagine so many glamorous tales too. You have the option of getting married within their 12th century chapel on site, followed by the reception either amongst the shady olive groves or in one of eight different event spaces they have for you to choose from. Prepare to be impressed by the food, which will be cooked by their Michelin starred restaurant as you gaze out across the beautiful sea views.
The chateau hotel has 52 suites, so there is plenty of space to have all your guests stay. Whilst you and your guests are there, be sure to take advantage of the wine tastings available, the spa and the gorgeous garden infinity pool.
