It comes as no surprise that Provence is a well-loved wedding destination, known for it’s lovely sunny weather, colourful countryside, delicious food and wine (most notably Provençal Rosé) and its rolling lavender fields. Plus its prime location means you can choose between either the beautiful coastline or pretty rolling countryside hills as the ideal spot for your wedding day.

Chateau Saint Roseline

Located in the centre of Provence, near to Saint Tropez, the French Riviera and just 45 minute’s drive from Nice, the beautiful and rustic Chateau Sainte Roseline is ideal if you fancy yourself a French countryside wedding but still with plenty to do around you. Whilst this wedding venue is a fab location for a small, homely and intimate wedding of 30, if you do happen to change your mind, it can actually host up to 250 people indoors and a gargantuan 1,000 people outdoors. As a winery estate, you can sip on their homemade wines throughout your wedding weekend and indulge you and your guests in tours and tastings on the days surrounding your wedding. With an onsite chapel, the local village priest of Les Arc can bless you before moving onto your reception, where you can host your welcome drinks in the picturesque 12th century cloister. Following this, you can choose to have your wedding breakfast in the intimate and moody Barrel Room, the Harvest Room or Al Fresco amongst the tree lined lane next to the Chateau.

Domaine De Manville

A 5 star hotel nestled in the valley below Les Baux, known to be one of the loveliest hilltop medieval villages in France, Domaine De Manville sits within an enormous 100 acres estate and originally functioned as a working farm. With the main building surrounded by olive trees, wild herbs and lots of leafy grounds, you can expect the warm and welcoming domaine to include elegant interiors, a large light filled spa, a fitness room along with an 18 hole golf course and pool in the grounds. It can also house a number of your guests across its 30 rooms and suites, and 9 villas. Bastide Saint Julien

For a venue that makes you feel really at home - albeit a very grand one - then look no further than Bastide Saint Julien. With lush and verdant grounds surrounding the Provencal country house, it strikes the ideal balance between impressive yet cosy. Taking care and attention of your intimate event, they can tailor the day entirely to you. The venues spaces are large yet feel intimate, through the carefully curated modern rustic design. Plus, if your guests are big fans of the foods of Provence, then they’ll love the location of the Bastide, as the surrounding area is home to lots of markets, restaurants and vineyards for you all to explore in the days leading up to and after the wedding.

La Lauren

Featuring possibly the prettiest, whimsical garden we’ve seen in a while, this medieval chateau is truly at one with nature as it nestles in beautifully amongst the Provencal countryside. The venue can hold up to 80 guests, with the ability to get married in the lavender fields or in the French garden for really intimate wedding ceremonies. Following the beautiful ceremony, your wedding reception can take place al fresco on the lawn weather permitting, with views over the tumbling hills of lavender fields and thereafter, you can enjoy the music later into the evening in their small country dance hall. The chateau is home to lots of authentic and classic decor along with medieval fireplaces and can sleep up to 6 people, with further accommodation in the village nearby.

Chateau Les Carrasses

We’re starting this list with an absolute showstopper. Chateau les Carrasses is a beautiful turreted building, set within vast grounds that can sleep up to 124 guests across 30 suites, cottages and flats, with some of the larger properties even having their own private pools and gardens. Approached via a quintessentially french tree lined driveway, framed by vineyards, forestland and with the Pyrenees in the distance, the venue has a modern and classic french interior, that feels luxurious yet homely. Your ceremony can take place in the local church, the gardens or by the lovely glass garden house, which was supposedly built by Gustave Eiffel, of Eiffel Tower fame! The reception will then follow either on the main terrace or within a marquee set by the pool, with the opportunity to take the evening party into the atmospheric wine cellar, where you can party well into the evening.

Chateau De Blomac

Set within the heart of the wine region, Chateau de Blomac is a relaxed and elegant wedding venue that feels typically french. It is the ideal location for an al fresco wedding, with the ability to get married within the private parkland and follow this with your wedding reception on the sheltered terrace. When you’re ready to hit the dance floor, head down to the ‘place de la fete’, a dance floor tucked under an illuminated boho marquee prepped and ready with a bar so you can party until 2am.

When it comes to location, the Chateau is placed within the centre of a sweet little village that your guests can easily visit and stay within. It is 35 mins from Carcassonne and 90 minutes from Toulouse, so easily accessed via car from the airport.

The venue can host up to 120 guests and sleeps up to 32 people across 7 suites.

Chateau D’Argent

Featuring a beautiful sandy toned exterior with picture perfect blue shutters and a romantic courtyard for dining and dancing, Chateau D’Argent ticks lots of boxes for the classic French wedding. It is a historic building, first sold in 1156 by the King of France to the Bishop of Uzes. Catering to an exclusive number of just 15 weddings per year, the service and attention to detail is high, and early bookings are highly recommended.

The venue consists of three different welcome reception spaces, a choice of bars to host your guests at along with a raised dance floor and band space. They provide on the day coordination along with all staffing required.

It is located in a small village overlooking the Alzon Valley at the western point of Provence, along with having the Rhone valley on its doorstep. The village has plenty of accommodation for your guests, with the opportunity to stay in the Chateau’s unique facility Hill Top Retreat.

Baumanière Les Baux-De-Provence

Perfectly located in the heart of Provence, near to the medieval town of Baux de Provence, this restored 16th Century Provencal farmhouse is a great choice if you want to embrace all the wonders of Provence, and serves as a great base from which your guests can explore the area. The farmhouse itself is beautiful and feels really authentic, surrounded by lavender, rose gardens, olive groves and boxwood. It blends both traditional and modern styles wonderfully, whilst ensuring it feels like a warm and welcoming place to be.

You have the option of hosting up to 100 of your guests either in a reception room within the farmhouse, on the shaded terrace, in the gardens or poolside. Plus, you can treat your guests to some great food, with the venue being the proud owner of two Michelin stars.

Le Mas De La Rose

A large traditional Provençal country home, La Mas de la Rose is set within 25 hectares of land and dates back to the 17th century. It’s the perfect option if you’d like the grandeur of a large house with a cosy and homely feel to it. Within the house you’ll find natural and elegant interiors, that strike the right balance between modern and traditional, in a way that sometimes only the French know how. With panoramic views across the parkland and a large swimming pool surrounded by lavender, there are plenty of places to hold different aspects of your day and will no doubt ensure your guests have a great time. The venue has capacity for 150 people and can sleep up to 24.

Chateau De Vieux Palais

A charming and characterful 17th century chateau, the Chateau du Vieux Palais is a quintessentially French, laid-back wedding location. Originally built for the Archbishop, it is surrounded by Saint Victoire mountain and feels really luxurious and tranquil.

The estate’s grounds are host to an abundance of activities, including a private swimming pool, tennis court, boules court and endless amounts of gardens and parklands to explore.

The venue can hold 110 guests both inside and out for the reception and can sleep 22 within its bedrooms.

Domaine De Canaille

Tucked in the bay of Cassis on the French Riviera, Domaine de Canaille is exactly what you’d imagine when thinking of the classic French Riviera wedding location. With a combination of classic and contemporary styles, it is positioned on 150 acres of land with full privacy.

You can hold your ceremony on the breathtaking front terrace, and then walk down to the secluded beach afterwards for a champagne reception. Dinner will also be served on the five-thousand square foot terrace, and your guests can lounge by the saltwater pool after dinner or the next morning.

Domaine de Canaille can sleep up to 24 people across 12 rooms and has a 130 person maximum capacity for the wedding itself.

Chateau Fontaine

Featuring an 18th century facade, Chateau Fontaine is Provençal charm at its best. With its picture ready symmetrical frontage complete with duck egg blue shutters, it is situated within 8 hectares of parkland with an abundance of locations to get married. From the Jardins a la Francaise and fountains and ponds, to the orchards and organic garden, you can choose different locations for different moods. You have the option of dining al fresco or under a marquee, and can then make the most of a BBQ by the infinity pool the day after.

The consecrated chapel can host up to 70 guests for the ceremony, the Chateau can host up to 150 for the ceremony, and is also able to sleep 29 people on site too.

Other crucial amenities that the Chateau offer are an on-site fitness area, a tennis court and even a helipad! We’re sure this must have come in really handy when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner hosted their wedding here in 2019…

In terms of location, it is situated in the heart of a village close to lots of the key cultural and historical sights of Provence. Handily, it is also perfect situated for a wine tour of Chateauneuf du Pape and close to the lovely Avignon.
